I think you are right about that. I just think it’s a waste of electricity to heat the bed if you don’t need to. I’m also impatient sometimes.

Well, if that works for the material why not. However, the costs of the head bed are not that bad. It is just the initial heat up phase. After that it is just interval heating for a few seconds. Here a proper insulation of the underside comes in handy, which not only increases the interval delay during printing, but also speeds up the initial heating when starting to print.

I usually collect stuff I want to print to avoid the initial heating phase. It is also less stress for the printer when used/heated up for more than one print.
