PETG and supports

My printer and I are having a minor disagreement when prints need supports.
Using an Ender 5 with a MKS Robin board and E3D v6 hotend my SuperSlicer setting for Z-offset is currently 0.25mm from filament.
Supports are horrendous to remove, specifically the interface layers. Making the settings smaller makes it a NIGHTMARE to say the least.

Do I go bigger on my Z-offset from filament?
Is there some other setting I am missing?

In Cura there is a Support Density setting. See if there is something equivalent in SS. Lowering the density might well make supports easier to remove.

This is the setting I use in Prusa Slicer for supports for PLA and they remove fairly easily.
