Ideamaker

Good find @Gramps. Well done my friend.

For those with a Artist-D there are profiles for Ideamaker on JGMaker3d.com

Ideamaker Tip of the Day

For IDEX printer owners using Ideamaker when setting up the printer in the Advanced tab on the left side there is an option “Independent Dual Extrusion” check this box and when you click the left Start slice option below the Template choise drop down there will be a new drop down for Normal, Duplicate, Mirror,

When slicing if you choose Duplicate an other model will appear on the bed. You then must click Move/Arrange Models this will place them on each side of the bed. After slicing Preview will show both models. When you go to slice it recommends turning on Rafts because it’s checked in the printer profile. I’m trying it without the raft as soon as the SV04 is free.

Assuming this works as expected then I think that will answer my question in the other thread about using Octoprint to print Diplicates & Mirrors

I believe you will have to ensure your printer is in Full Control mode. On the Artist D this simply means that the printer is relying on whatever is sending the job to the printer to take care of any duplicating/mirroring.

I don’t think that is turned on in the firmware on the SV04 I know currently I can send prints to it from Octoprint but I can’t pause or stop it from there and the screen on the printer gets confused too. I need to recompile the software anyway when the Raspberry gets here. I’ll check the screen tomorrow and see if that’adan option. Thanks for the tip.

I sliced a file in Ideamaker using the Duplicate drop down option loaded the file into the SV04 using the SD card. Left it on single nozzle and pressed the print button on the LCD screen. It headed the bed, both extruders and began printing in Duplicate. So that pretty much tells me I can just send the files with Octoprint without touching the screen.

Now I have to fix the printer so it plays nice with Octoprint.

Do I smell progress?? I dare say I do

Glad to hear that, I will have to give it a try!
