Discussion on IDEX printers.

The issue, AFAICS, with non-IDEX dual extruders is the requirement for purging at every filament change. I have found that, with an IDEX printer, it is best to use a priming tower, but it only takes a very small amount of filament, enough to ensure the next nozzle to be used has filament ready to flow. Purging wastes a lot more filament and runs the risk of color tainting (bits of the previous color showing up in the current color).

I got an IDEX printer about a month ago, it’s like an addiction, I end up doing something new pretty much every day. Buying all sorts of different materials and print bed surfaces to see what produces the best results.

Tell us more and send us pics. I think there is a lot of interest. What brand did you buy?

Is no one printing with their IDEX printers? I’m waiting to see some cool stuff.
