Need Simple photo editing software for lithophanes.

I haven’t used Macs in a couple of decades, so I can’t help. However, I can virtually guarantee there is a way to change the keyboard layout.

Ill ask Mr Google.

Due to my luck of free time, i can’t read the whole trheads here. If i can add a little help here, just shout me!!!

My room mate bought this laptop from a private guy who seems very serious and works out of his house but he is on holiday and my roommate has gone to his chalet so I will just have to wait it out.

I have a french Canadian keyboard which is just fine but I have to make it work now. Ive been speaking french for fifty years and didnt know they had an A grave and a U grave as extra letters. I identified my keyboard here, incase anyone is interested… MacBook Keyboard Layout Identification Guide | Keyshorts Blog

Thank goodness for google and youtube, I finally have my keyboard working the way it should.

Well, that’s one thing down… how many to go?? Congrats on identifying the KB.

I have all my punctuation now. There were so many things I couldn’t use. I can write properly in French now without a bunch of work arrounds.

Oh, you’re still writing in French Canadian (which I’ve been told is not radically, but sufficiently different from France French that it needs its own KB).

I learned French french years before I adapted to Canadian french but they are both written the same way except I have no idea why I have these keys…ù à…I usually only need these è.é.ç and there are two more that I don’t see but maybe they have a way of confecting them. I prefer the azerty board it’ better for when you need English, French and Spannish.

Just for your interest it seems you can import an image directly into Cura and you even get some lithophane options like depth setting (darker is higher/lighter is higher) and you can define a base height.

No clue when that was added, I just stumbled over it when accidental loading an image.

I have already used Cura to make lithos but I prefer the online site.

I followed a youtube video that Dr. Vax made.

You might want to look at photoshop, Corel PaintShop Pro , and Lightroom. All have free trials (of varying lengths).

Gimp and DarkTable for opensource solutions (still needs work). Darktable is similar to Lightroom in use case, and GIMP is similar to Photoshop.

Affinity photo is another fantastic option for you. It’s a once-off payment unlike Adobe’s monthly subscription.
