  • Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro

I have a new Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro. It works perfectly although the Auto Level does not work correctly. When I do Auto Level before a new print the level is out. When I use Aux Level everything is fine and it works correctly.

Did you manually tram (level) the bed before trying to use auto level? That is normally needed in order to get the bed within the range that auto levelling probes can handle.

Thanks Ender5r. Yes I did and that is what really concerns me.

Ender5r Rango, I agree with Ender5r. I highly recommend manually leveling the printer before you use ABL. I would go even farther. Some of the printers I have reviewed do not have an easy way to level the print bed and rely on ABL manually. From now on, I will not recommend a printer without the ability to manually level the print bed and then use the ABL.

Thanks Irv. Yes, I did manual leveling before I used ABL. I am doing manual leveling only now, because it is very easy with the Ender 3.

I've never been tempted to install a leveling system on my Ender 3 pro nor a filament runout. They just seem to be more things to worry about.

Yes roon4660. I agree, but this one of the nice features on this machine which made me decide to buy it and I would like to get it working. But I agree that I rather use manual leveling now.

It is definitely possible to get a BL Touch style probe working -- I'm using a genuine BL Touch on my Ender 5 with good results. I imagine the CR Touch is just as capable.

Well Ender5r, then I will put more effort in to get the ABL working. It is a very nice feature.

Has Z offset been set and saved? I have no direct experience with ABL, but remember Z-Offset setting is necessary. Auto level needs to keep nozzle from hitting bed in ABL routine, Z-Offset, moves Z to correct height for printing.

ABL requires a stored Z Offset and bed mesh to be really useful.

Hi All. My ABL is working. Thanks to all the advise. I think the main reason was the z offset, Happy printing.

That's good to hear Rango. Things like this are why the 3D printing community is so important.

I need advise with preventative maintenance on my Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro. I asked the supplier for a proper maintenance manual, but they cannot help me. I think it is essential to do preventative maintenance and also know the intervals of the maintenance. Please assist.

They wouldn't be able to sell many printers if they didn't have youtube.
